I need something that isn't directional (like a spotlight), but rather more like a regular light fixture that spreads light in all directions. And I want it to be low-profile, so it doesn't extend very far below the ceiling. If this exists, please direct me to a website with an example. I won't choose yours as best answer unless you give me a link.

The light fixture has about 4 bulbs on it. If you jiggle the attachment point, the lights blink on and off. Should I get a new fixture or try to salvage the old one? How do I make it get a better connection?

I have a small track lighting fixture with halogen bulbs. The bulbs came with a small suction cup device but I cannot figure out how to get the bulb out of there. Help!

My husband and I have never installed any type of light fixture before. We just bought a house with a large kitchen. There is only one celing fan in the middle. what I'm trying to do is run a track lighting fixture from the ceiling. There is no electric box where I am trying to install the lights. I thought maybe I could run a wire from the lights down the wall and connect a plug at the end of the wire to make the fixture run off of a wall outlet instead of a electric box in the ceiling. Do I still have to use the ground wire? if so, how do I do it? Is it safe to not use it? Thanks for your help & patience.

I'm looking to install track lighting in my apartment. Currently my apartment has one light fixture in the middle of the room. I want to replace this light fixture with a set of track lights on either side of the room and a ceiling fan where the original fixture is. Is this something that a relative novice can do? Or should I hire an electrician?

Help! It is dark in my office ;-) I need track lighting in a room that is in the center of my home (it always seems dark). I'm on a tight budget. They don't technically have to slide. 5 or 10 years ago I found a good deal on "track lighting" that does not slide, each "track" was available with either 2 or 3 'pointable' light fixtures. They where only around $30 each. I can't seem to find anything in that price range now.

In replacing my lighting fixture, I'm trying to figure out which might be more energy efficient. Would it be, an LED track lighting fixture with four 50W bulbs, or a square fluorescent lighting fixture with two 40W tubes?
